The City of Gallup Planning & Development Department is responsible for handling transient camps. However, there is a lengthy process to use city funds to clear this camp. Our Code Enforcement Officers will be conducting visits along with the Police Department in mid-April to start site visits. Thereafter we will have to contact the property owner to inform them of our findings and obtain permission to clean their property. After we receive estimates from vendors we can move forward with starting the finance side of things to eventually remove the camp. I understand your frustration, but please be patient with our process we have several other camps we're trying to address at the same time. Unfortunately once we clean one camp another one pops up so its been difficult for us to keep up. But please be aware that we're addressing the issues the best we can.
